Piss Off Your Borrowers And You Could End Up With Major Headaches, How's This For Word-Of-Mouth Advertising?

Is the customer always right? I'm not sure about that one. I've had plenty of borrowers who were wrong, and I rightly told them so! You see, being a loan officer is more than just crunching the numbers, you also have to be honest and sometimes brutally blunt. Most people appreciate my candor and thank me for it. The fact is that people are so used to being lied to that they will accept only what they want to hear. Even if it's a bold faced lie! But, when you get into an argument with a customer, it's best to take the high road and end things early. If they fight with you at the beginning, they will fight with you all the way until the end. Especially if they don't understand something and think they got screwed at the closing table. In this case, here is what happens when a customer's wrath is let loose. Thank god it wasn't my firm, but for a competitors company it was the last straw. They folded up like a used umbrella. Hmmmm....I guess word-of-mouth marketing really does work--for good and for bad!
